What is the Little Local Hero Teddy Bear Program?

Mission: To make sure every child has a Teddy Bear
to hug when he or she needs one the most.

The Bearstuffer "Stuff-N-Fluff" team has launched the Little Local Hero Teddy Program in January 2008 to make sure children have a Teddy Bear to hug when they need one the most.

Police, fire, and rescue personnel have found that Teddy Bears provide welcomed on-site and in-transit comfort to children involved in house fires, car crashes, and other traumatic events. Unfortunately, budget constraints severely limit the ability of police, fire, and rescue stations to carry sufficient Teddy Bear supplies on their vehicles. With more than 11 million children being transported for medical care each year by more than 75,000 emergency services, it is easy to see that there is an ever-growing need for these special rescue Teddy Bears.
Facilitated by outside donations, The Little Local HeroTeddy Bear Program was created to more effectively meet this need. Through the program, offers 14" Teddy Bears to emergency service professionals free of charge, through the Generosity of the public and businesses donations. $19.95 each
You can help, too, by participating in our "Buy 1", to be donated to an emergency service station in need of, A Little Local Hero Bear.

On one of our calls we had a child who was hysterically crying.
When I gave him a Teddy Bear, he immediately stopped crying and hung onto the bear.
Once your supply of teddy bears has been used, you can contact us to reorder more bears. However, at that point we may need to place you on a waiting list, to ensure that every request can be fulfilled in the order which they were received.

We would also be happy to discuss ways in which sponsorship in your community can assist you in an effort to maintain a continuous supply of bears.

Bullying has become a huge part of our life during the last 20 years. Bullying itself has been around forever, we all have memories and/or scars from our school days, but from the start of the "electronic age" , it has become the #1 topic with many parents, and almost all school administrations.

In my day, we dealt with older, bigger kids pushing around younger, smaller kids. Lunch money or bicycle's were taken, until a larger brother or the smaller child stood up for themselves, settled the problem on the playground, and it was over because the bully never wanted to be held accountable.

As for the girls, usually, they were ostracized from one group of girls or another,
until they found their comfortable/proper social peer groups. Of course these are very wide generalizations, of a long ago time period.
